Enrollment For 2026-2027 Classes Opens January 1st For All Families
Get ready for a fun and exciting literacy adventure with us! We can't wait for you to explore our incredible classes—each one thoughtfully designed to spark your child's love of learning and grounded in research-based principles for teaching early literacy.
All of our classes focus on the two most important early literacy skills: letter knowledge and phonological awareness— the #1 predictor of future reading success. By pairing it with strong letter knowledge, we're giving preschoolers a powerful foundation to become confident, capable learners.
Just think—adding one of our weekly classes to your child's preschool routine can make a big difference in nurturing their love for learning. Let's embark on this incredible journey together!

We chose to send our youngest to TFLC because we felt he needed a little extra support with developing fine motor skills and letter recognition prior to entering kindergarten. We immediately loved the warm, welcoming environment at TFLC, the small class sizes and individualized attention, and the creative ways Mrs. Faust engages children in learning that feels like play.
Our son went from refusing to hold a pencil or crayon correctly to being able to write and say his full alphabet, loves drawing elaborate pictures, and is even starting to write and sound out short words! He is now more than prepared to start kindergarten, but most importantly, he felt cared for and supported at TFLC and loved attending every week. We couldn’t be happier with our experience!

About the Class
Playful Learners is the perfect first step for curious two-year-olds! Each class begins with open play and engaging sensory centers that encourage exploration, creativity, and social connection. Early literacy skills are thoughtfully woven into these experiences, with letters made visible throughout the classroom to spark excitement and curiosity around “all things letters.”
Children strengthen fine motor and early movement skills as they explore hands-on materials, then come together for storytime and music—building phonological awareness through rhythm, rhyme, and sound play. With its joyful mix of sensory exploration, visible literacy, and playful learning, Playful Learners nurtures confidence, independence, and a love of learning that prepares children for our Little Learners and Preschool Learners programs.

About the Class
This class focuses on the research-backed skills that matter most for early learners. Your child will dive deep into letter knowledge, exploring both uppercase and often-overlooked lowercase letters through songs, games, and hands-on activities that are both learning and play-based..
This class has a strong phonological awareness component— after all, it is the #1 predictor of future reading success—going beyond rhyming to include clapping out sentences, jumping syllables, and identifying beginning and ending sounds, all through games, movement, and play.
With added fine motor practice, such as tracing and building, this class is both fun and foundational. We go beyond what many programs cover, which makes it the perfect addition if your preschooler will be headed to kindergarten or spending one more year in preschool.

About the Class
Mini Learners is our playful, 90-minute afternoon literacy class—perfect for preschoolers who are ready for a little more after their morning preschool day. This class is a mini version of our full-year morning program, featuring a slightly more relaxed atmosphere to complement the afternoon energy of young learners.
Each class focuses on letter knowledge—recognizing letters, their names, and sounds—as well as phonological awareness, which is the essential skill of hearing and manipulating sounds in words. Research indicates that phonological awareness is the most significant predictor of future reading success. We explore these foundational literacy skills through interactive centers, movement-based games, songs, and hands-on activities, making learning both joyful and engaging.
Whether your child needs extra practice with letters or enjoys learning through play, Mini Learners is an excellent way to extend their preschool day with purpose.

FAQ'S
Over the years, we have experimented with class sizes and discovered that having just four students per class is ideal for fostering a focused and personalized learning environment. This small class size allows us to tailor our teaching to meet the specific needs of each student. Additionally, it helps minimize distractions in the classroom, creating an optimal setting for developing foundational literacy skills. This approach is one of the many ways TFLC stands out from other local programs
There are no academic requirements for our classes. We do ask that our Little Learners be enrolled in a local preschool or daycare, as our program is designed to complement their preschool experience. If your three-year-old is not yet enrolled in preschool or daycare, our Playful Learners class is a wonderful option for a first-time classroom experience. Our Preschool Learners and Pre-K Learners classes are open to all children, regardless of prior classroom experience.
We understand the importance of flexibility in your child's learning journey. Most families choose to enroll their preschoolers in one class per week in addition to attending their local preschool. Just one weekly class will provide a strong literacy foundation before entering kindergarten.
Our program is intentionally different from a traditional preschool. While our classes may look similar at first glance, they are designed with unique features that set us apart. We utilize a research-based approach to teaching early literacy in a developmentally appropriate, fun, and engaging way. Our small class sizes allow for individualized materials and meaningful one-to-one support, and we dive deeper into literacy skills than most local preschool programs. These targeted skills are intentionally repeated week to week, and the progress our students make as they transition to kindergarten reflects the strength of this approach.
Most of our families attend a local preschool or daycare. TFLC was designed to complement existing preschool and daycare programs, not replace them. That said, each year we welcome a couple of homeschooling families who choose to use our classes as part of their child’s early learning experience.
