Welcome To Our Literacy Studio!

Our Philosophy
Our mission is to build strong foundations in letters, sounds, and early writing through playful, research-based activities and intentionally small classes designed just for preschool learners.
We pride ourselves on going beyond the typical letter-of-the-week approach, helping preschoolers truly understand letters and the sounds behind them through playful, intentional literacy experiences.
It’s the difference between recognizing letters and truly being ready to use them.
Our playful learning classes follow a "learn-by-doing" approach. We focus on developmentally appropriate skills that your early learner will utilize come kindergarten and beyond!
Key Skills Focused
From Our Founder
I founded The Friends Learning Center after years of working with young children in both early childhood and elementary classrooms. With a Master's degree in Special Education and Early Childhood Education, and experience teaching preschool, I saw firsthand how important strong literacy foundations are during the early years.
As both an educator and a mom, I’ve always believed that young children learn best in environments where they feel happy, supported, and excited to explore. At TFLC, we’ve created a warm and welcoming space where children can play, discover, and build confidence while developing important early learning skills.
Research consistently shows that letter knowledge and phonological awareness are among the strongest predictors of later reading success, and the preschool years are the perfect time to begin building these skills while learning still feels like play.
That belief is what inspired me to open The Friends Learning Center, a place where children can explore the sounds and skills behind letters through playful, hands-on learning in intentionally small classes. Through engaging activities and gentle guidance, we help children build confidence with letters, sounds, and early writing while developing the strong literacy foundations that support reading success.
The TFLC Teaching Approach
⭐Strong understanding of early literacy development
Our teachers understand how foundational skills like letter knowledge, phonological awareness, and early writing support later reading success and intentionally incorporate these skills into everyday learning experiences.
⭐Experienced working with early learners ages 2–6
Our teachers know how young children learn best and create developmentally appropriate experiences that support language, curiosity, and confidence.
⭐Playful learning with purposeful instruction
Activities are thoughtfully designed so that children build meaningful literacy skills through play, movement, and hands-on exploration.
⭐Attentive and responsive to each child’s growth
TFLC teachers carefully observe how children learn, adjusting activities and guidance to support each learner’s individual development.

Teaches Preschool Learners & Pre-K Learners
Mrs. Faust loves spending her days at TFLC. She enjoys helping learners discover letters and sounds through playful exploration. In her classroom, you’ll often find children building letters with play-dough, clapping syllables, and searching for sounds in playful activities. She loves seeing her friends in her classroom as much as they love coming to TFLC.

Trial Classes
Would you like to experience the magic of our classes firsthand?
We offer complimentary trial classes for prospective students. Each class is 2 hours long, and all students must be potty trained. Since trial classes will be with our current students, this is a drop-off class. Your child must be able to attend the class without a caregiver. Mrs. Faust will be available after the class to chat and answer any questions.
